Bryant sent a note defending the good ol days. I thought you would nd her points interesting and valuable. Here is an excerpt from her note: So, why do I want to see a return of the good ol days? The answer is easy. Somewhere along the line, starting in the late 50s, our country started taking a major detour from appreciating family, respecting authority, working for what you want, making decisions based on sound moral and ethical principles, and solving problems without hate and violence. I can honestly say that I dont recognize my country anymore. Its lled with vitriol on every level. Common courtesy and civil debate dont seem to exist anymore. The daily news coast to coast is a testament to that. Life was better when evening supper was where we all sat at the table together sharing a meal and details of our day. Not many families sit down together for dinner anymore. Everyone is on the run with sports, activities or playing on their personal computers and/or cell phones. Eating has become a grab a bite to eat on the way to something else. Then there (were) Sunday dinners that included the entire family (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.) around the table(s) enjoying a meal and conversation for hours.
